Why Chiropractic?

While in my sophomore year at the University of Illinois Chicago, I had been sleeping on a futon (as many college students do) and created chronic low back pain for myself. So, it got to the point where I couldn’t tolerate it anymore and I ended up going to my family doctor. I was prescribed an NSAID (anti-inflammatory drug), I took a dose that night because I had an exam the next morning and wanted to get some rest. Well, that didn’t happen. Instead I spent the whole night awake with writhing abdominal pain and nausea. So, there I was the night before my midterm with abdominal pain and still experiencing the back pain! I ended up chucking the whole bottle and just living with the low back pain. It wasn’t until 2 years later, when I started working for a chiropractor and getting regular adjustments, that my back pain went away. I slept so well after my first adjustment, I was late to work the next morning! Good thing it was my boss’ fault! So began my journey with chiropractic.

About Neha Shah, Chiropractor

Chiropractor St Charles IL Dr. Neha Shah Gamble, or Dr. Shah as she is known around the office, is a board certified and licensed Chiropractic Physician. Dr. Shah has completed advanced training for maternal health, including Webster Technique Certification. This technique allows her to optimize fetal positioning and support the mother's spine throughout pregnancy. Dr. Shah has experienced the benefits of chiropractic through her own pregnancy and the birth of her son. She has also witnessed the improvements in patients struggling with various painful conditions with limited options for relief. Over the years, Dr. Shah has found her passion in treating perinatal patients. She also enjoys pediatric visits and meeting the new babies! Dr. Shah is a qualified acupuncture practitioner and provides safe and effective treatments for pregnant women. When she's not at White Oak Family Wellness, which she co-owns with her husband, you can find her out and about in the community with her husband and son. 

Background

Dr. Shahwas born and raised in Illinois and spent most of her childhood in the northern suburbs. She graduated from University of Illinois at Chicago with a B.S. in Biology and a B.A in Psychology. She then went on to receive her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from National University of Health Sciences. While studying for her doctorate, Dr. Shah worked in a chiropractic office in Gurnee, Illinois for about 4 years. She completed her clinical internship and worked as a clinical assistant with Dr. Grant Iannelli, DC. Prior to opening White Oak Family Wellness she focused on her home care patients. Dr. Shah has also spent time working abroad at the Natural Doctors International clinic in Ometepe, Nicaragua as well as a clinic in a small village in Peru. She looks forward to the next opportunity to help the global community.
